Privacy Policy
Effective July 27, 2026
Happy Home ("Happy Home," "we," "us") operates myhappyhome.app. This explains what we collect when you use myhappyhome.app, why, who else touches it, and how to get it deleted. We have kept it short on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email hello@myhappyhome.app and we will explain it plainly.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address, when you create an account.
- Your home's address, city, state, and ZIP, which you enter during setup.
- Details about your home that you tell us: rooms, systems and appliances, their approximate ages, work you have had done, and concerns you describe. Most of this arrives through ordinary conversation in the app.
- Photos you take or upload, when you use the camera to show Happy Home a room, an appliance, or something you cannot identify. Photos are sent to our AI provider to be analyzed and are kept with your home record.
- Anything else you send us, including support messages and feedback.
Information we generate
- The summaries, snapshots, guidance, and digests Happy Home produces about your home.
- Basic usage records: when you signed up, when you last used it, which features you have used.
Information collected automatically
- Standard technical information any website receives, including IP address, browser, and device type. Our host logs this to keep the service running and secure.
- We do not currently use third-party analytics tools or advertising trackers on our site.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your Social Security number, government ID, financial account numbers, or payment card information. Happy Home is free today and we do not process payments. We do not collect precise GPS location. We do not buy personal information about you from data brokers.
2. Why we use it
- Create and secure your account.
- Build and maintain a picture of your specific home, which is the core of what Happy Home does.
- Answer your questions and give guidance relevant to your house, your climate, and your home's age.
- Send the weekly digest, plus account and service messages such as password resets.
- Understand how Happy Home is used, fix problems, and improve and develop the product, including building new features.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
We may create aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you or your home, and may use and share that for any purpose, including research, product development, and describing Happy Home publicly. We do not attempt to re-identify information once de-identified.
3. Where it is stored, and who processes it
Happy Home is a small operation built on a handful of third-party services. Each gets only what it needs.
| Provider | Role | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and database storage | Your email, home address, and all home information you provide |
| Anthropic | Current AI provider | Your conversation contents, photos you send, and relevant home context |
| Vercel | Hosting | Standard technical and connection data |
| Resend | Sending the digest and account email | Your email address and the message contents |
About the AI specifically. Happy Home currently uses Anthropic's API to generate responses. Your messages, any photos you send, and relevant context about your home are sent there to be processed. Anthropic's published commercial policy states that content sent through its API is not used to train its models and is deleted from its systems within 30 days by default.
If we change or add AI providers, we will update this page to name them.
All of these providers store data in the United States. Happy Home is intended for use in the United States only.
4. Who else we share with
Beyond the providers above, we share personal information only in these situations:
- When you ask us to. If you use a feature that involves sending information somewhere else, we will tell you what is being sent before it goes.
- Legal requirements. If required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
- Business transfer. If Happy Home is acquired or its assets are sold, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. Any acquirer would remain bound by this policy until it is changed, and we would notify you of a change.
As of the effective date above, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. What we may do in the future
We would rather be straight with you now than surprise you later.
Happy Home is early. We have not decided how it will make money. Things we are actively considering include connecting you with local service professionals when you need work done, and working with companies in home services, insurance, or lending.
We are not doing any of that today. There are no vendor relationships, no referral arrangements, and no partner data sharing in place right now.
If we build any of it, here is how we will handle it:
- We will update this policy and change the effective date before the feature launches.
- We will not hand your home information to a vendor, insurer, lender, or other partner unless you ask us to or you affirmatively agree at the time.
- If a change materially affects how we use information we already collected from you, we will notify you by email and, where required, get your consent before applying it to that information.
- If we ever begin selling or sharing personal information for advertising purposes as those terms are defined under state privacy law, we will disclose it here and provide the opt-out the law requires.
Nothing here should be read as a permanent commitment not to introduce new features, partners, or business models. It is a commitment to tell you before we do, and to ask when asking is what a decent company would do.
Advertising. We advertise Happy Home on platforms including Reddit and Nextdoor. We do not currently place advertising trackers on our own site, and those platforms do not receive information about what you do inside Happy Home.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and home information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data from our live systems within 30 days. Copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period after that before they are overwritten on our normal backup cycle.
We may keep a minimal record that an account existed and was deleted, so we can honor your request if you contact us again.
7. Your choices and your rights
- Get a copy of your information. Email us and we will send you what we have.
- Correct anything wrong. Most of this you can fix in the app by telling Happy Home. For anything you cannot, email us.
- Delete your account and data. Email hello@myhappyhome.app from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account." We will confirm and complete it within 30 days.
- Stop the emails. Every digest has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and it works immediately. Unsubscribing does not delete your account. You will still get essential account messages such as password resets.
Depending on where you live, state law may give you formal rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your information, and to appeal if we decline. We honor these requests from anyone who asks, regardless of what state you live in. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
We verify requests by requiring they come from the email address on the account. If we cannot verify a request, we may ask for more information or decline it.
8. Security
Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security enabled, meaning the database is configured so your records are readable only by your own account. Traffic to and from the app is encrypted in transit.
Happy Home is a small operation and no system is perfectly secure. We would rather be honest than tell you your data is impenetrable. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and any regulator the law requires, as promptly as we can.
9. Children
Happy Home is intended for adults who own or maintain a home. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any updated version here with a new effective date. For minor changes, that is all we will do. For changes that materially affect how we handle information we already collected from you, we will email you before the change takes effect.
